Owner of the house where a cat went missing said he didn’t think it was a trap.
Owner of the Trap House, a property in the neighborhood of Trap House Place, said he has not found the cat.
“I’m not sure if it was just in the house, it’s a small place,” said owner and owner of the property, Scott Stokes, in a phone interview Tuesday.
We have had cats for years and they have gone missing, he said.
He said he’s not sure what the cat did and said he hopes to have more information from animal control this week.
Stokes said he believes the cat went into the house while he was at work, but he does not have a way to see it or know if it escaped.
Cat-related deaths in the U.S. have increased in recent years.
In 2017, there were five reported cat deaths in Florida, up from three the year before, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture.
The most recent cat death was in 2017 in St. Petersburg, Florida, where a woman who had just given birth to a girl was found dead inside the home, authorities said.
